My friend’s 16th birthday was in May, and I missed it 😦 So I’m making up for it with a cake made of Oreos! (her favorite). If you’re reading this right now, happy birthday, Lizzie!! 😀
Georgia Dirt Cake
1 – 8 oz. pkg cream cheese – softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup soft butter, (optional)
2 – 3 ½ oz. pkgs. instant vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
12 – oz. carton non-dairy whipped topping, such as Cool Whip
20 – oz. pkg Oreo cookies
gummy worms (opt)
Mix together the cream cheese and butter. In a large bowl, combine the pudding, milk, and sugar. Add the cream cheese mixture and mix well. Fold in the whipped topping.
Crush the cookies in a food processor, or use a rolling pin and crush the cookies in a plastic bag until the cookies are of a fine, dirt-like consistency.
Place a handful of the cookie crumbs in a new, clean baking dish. Cover with a layer of the pudding mixture. Continue alternating layers of crumbs and pudding, ending with the cookie crumbs on the top. Chill. When ready to serve, maybe put some little gummy worms to the top to make it super cute ::grin::
Could anything be easier than dirt cake? 🙂
